Race for the Cure » Survivors / Co-Survivors
All race participants who are breast cancer survivors are invited to visit the Survivors Tent on Race Day where they will receive a pink recognition cap, special survivor T–shirt, goodie bag, and breakfast. The Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity and Re/Max sponsor this special Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Program.
"In Memory Of" and "In Celebration Of" placards will be available the day of the race at the Zeta booth and the Survivor tent.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three female and top male breast cancer survivors who finish the Timed 5K Division, as well as to the top masters survivor and top senior survivor overall (age 55 and over).
The survivor recognition ceremony will take place on Race Day at 7:45 am. Survivors should meet by the survivor tent, line up according to the number of years of survivorship and then will be escorted to the stage by volunteers. The group photo will then be taken. Each participating survivor will receive a complimentary photo available after the Race at the survivor tent.
Co-Survivors Recognition Program
Co-survivors - family, friends, doctors, or colleagues - can be sources of support and inspiration. A new pink and white ribbon was designed to represent the special relationship between people who have fought breast cancer and those who supported them throughout diagnosis and treatment. Small cards with the pink and white embroidered ribbon sticker will be available at the pre-registration and at the Survivor Tent on Race Day for survivors to give to his or her co-survivor. Stickers will also be available for survivors to use in recognition of their co-survivor by writing in the person's name and wearing it proudly on Race Day.
